Why Choose us

We have a real mixed membership from County level players to complete beginners.

Open days give the community the opportunity to come and meet the members and try the sport and our weekend general play is open to passers bye who wish to try as well as all members of all abilities. We can provide all equipment and coaching you just need to bring a smile and some flat shoes / trainers for your time on the green.

You may practice (have a ‘Roll Up‘) whenever the green is not pre-booked for matches or competitions and also if not being cut or treated at the time. If you just wish to spectate you are again very welcome and the fixture list will show you when we play and when we are at home.

Access is made available for you to use club equipment (jacks, mats, scoreboards, toilets etc.)

Ask how this is accessed.

Club practice and fun sessions are held each week; Dress Code can be casual but ensure you wear flat bowls shoes. We have team kit when representing the club in any of our five bowls leagues. This means as a club league games can be every weekday in the summer.

What out for our evening socials in the summer when matches are supported with a Bar BQ and of green entertainment (even the Morris Dancers make an annual summer appearance)

Finally, we are about inclusion. If you just wish to play socially that’s great with friends and maybe lunch or tea afterwards. If you wish to play in our leagues we have “rota” for the majority of our matches based on your availability, so all get the chance to play. Finally, for those with a real competitive nature you can enter matches at a high-level including country representations/selection and beyond.
